Editor Modes
Moraya provides three distinct editing modes to suit different workflows.
Visual Mode (Default)
The WYSIWYG mode where Markdown renders inline as you type. This is the default and recommended mode for most users.
Source Mode
A raw Markdown textarea with monospace font. Toggle with Cmd+/ (macOS) or Ctrl+/ (Windows/Linux). Ideal for advanced users who want to see and edit raw Markdown syntax.
Split Mode
Side-by-side view with source on the left and rendered preview on the right. Toggle with Cmd+Shift+/ (macOS) or Ctrl+Shift+/. The split uses scroll synchronization to keep both panes aligned.
Note: Cmd+Shift+/ produces ? on most keyboard layouts — the shortcut handler checks for both / and ?.
Mode Switching
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
Cmd+/ | Toggle between Visual and Source mode |
Cmd+Shift+/ | Toggle Split mode |
Modes can also be switched from the View menu in the native menu bar. The active mode is shown with a checkmark in the menu.

The current mode is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the editor window.
